Xpace is thrilled to launch our new BREAKout program with inaugural artist Chimemelie Okafor.

Xpace’s BREAKout program will support one Black artist and one Indigenous artist annually to activate our Window Space by invitation during our summer and winter closures.

Chimemelie Okafor (b. 2003) is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Toronto. She has a BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University (2026). Working primarily with oil paint, she also explores drawing and collage. Her practice is rooted in storytelling, using colour, patterns, and surreal imagery to explore the complexity of the human experience through her own lens.

The exhibition is currently on view in our Window Space through August 2026.
