Experimental Projection Techniques with Mary Ma
A hands-on introductory workshop on experimental uses of video projectors to engage with 3D objects and space.
Topics covered include the functions of projectors, ways of projecting on objects and unconventional materials, basic analog and digital projection mapping techniques, and the use of the free projection mapping software VPT7 (Video Projection Tool 7).
Please bring a laptop with the software VPT7 (Video Projection Tool 7) installed. VPT7 is a free, projection-mapping program that is available across Mac and PC platforms and downloadable here: https://hcgilje.wordpress.com/vpt/
Participants may also bring short video clips they wish to project on a laptop or USB. Beginners welcome!
Mary Ma is an artist whose practice incorporates large-scale structures and multi-channel video projections. She is currently the Programming Coordinator at Xpace Cultural Centre. www.maryma.ca
