Images Festival 2011
Call for Volunteers
The Images Festival is the largest festival in North America for experimental and independent moving image culture, showcasing the innovative edge of international contemporary media art both on and off the screen. Images is committed to an expanded concept of film and video practice: alongside film and video screenings, the festival presents groundbreaking live performances, media art installations in local galleries and new media projects by many renowned Canadian and international artists. We go out of our way and over the edge to provide Toronto with an annual extravaganza of image making!
The 24th annual Images Festival takes place in Toronto from March 31 – April 9, 2011
Like many non-profit organizations, we depend on the support of volunteers.
As well as being fun, volunteering can provide you with valuable experience and an opportunity to meet key people in the arts. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following duties this spring:
-Â Â Â Administrative and promotional tasks in the office before the festival
-Â Â Â Box Office and merchandise sales
-Â Â Â Ushers and ticket takers for screenings and live events
-Â Â Â Distributing posters and catalogues downtown
-Â Â Â Assisting artists with installing and de-installing gallery shows
-Â Â Â Decorating, bartending and hosting for parties and receptions
-Â Â Â And more… Please let us know your special skills!!
As an Images Festival volunteer you will be rewarded with a festival t-shirt plus free access to festival events (screenings, installations, live events, workshops and parties). It is a great opportunity to be involved with a vibrant art scene, see a film festival operate from the inside and help out a dynamic organization.
