Kaya Joan’s solo exhibition Fugitive Wanderer is the culmination of their thesis body of work. The show maps out Joan’s experiences as an Afro Indigenous queer being born and raised in T’karonto, exploring themes of blood-memory, placemaking, and healing. Joan’s work operates as a portal into futures of liberation and joy, creating an immersive environment for all multiplicities of their being to intersect, play and exist.
