Donde Brilla El Sol (Where the Sun Shines) is an exploration of the artist’s bond with the Sun and their ability to cultivate growth and resilience in the face of uncertainty. The artist explores their connection to the cosmic world and their ancestral roots through their relationship with the Sun.

In 1991, the artist’s family opened El Sol Mexican Restaurant, which centers around the Sun as a traditional family tribute. Like the Sun, El Sol Restaurant was a second home and place of growth for the artist. Under the circumstances brought by the pandemic, El Sol Restaurant has faced hardship like many other small businesses. Donde Brilla El Sol is a place found within the artist as a manifestation of home and fertile land of possibilities, where resilience and personal growth flourishes.

Xpace Cultural Centre is currently closed to the public but the exhibition can be viewed 24/7 from the street at 2-303 Lansdowne Ave.
