Tova Benjamin sees the world in words and Kendra Yee seeks to illustrate everything around her. Combining these two forms of communication, they have created a museum of Benjamin’s personal writings and memories. Narratives are classified, organized and reinterpreted as objects and artifacts. The exhibit seeks to explore questions of women’s personal histories: how do we validate memories, personally and collectively? Although we often think of time as chronological and progressive, the artifacts and writings seek to testify to the ways time works in cycles.
