An introductory workshop for artists and designers who would like to develop a portfolio website using WordPress to showcase their work. We will talk about why web presences are important and what the differences are between using free and paid services. We will also learn how to purchase a domain and hosting for WordPress, choose and modify a theme using different techniques, create pages and a gallery, set up a contact form and professional email, upload text and images and connect your website to Google Analytics.

No materials are required. A notebook or laptop might be useful to take notes.

Rebecca Welbourn holds a BA in Media, Information and Technoculture from The University of Western Ontario, as well as a diploma in Interactive Media Theory and Production from Fanshawe College. She maintains a professional practice in graphic design, web development and marketing. Rebecca works and lives in Toronto.
