Hush Now explores a state of unreality experienced while navigating personal relationships impacted by addiction. The viewer is invited into a dreamscape that acknowledges the coexistence of reciprocal nurturing and destructive behaviours, and the push and pull existing between them. This installation reflects on the rippling of these connections throughout a family history; the echo of their effects amplified by the silence that they travel through. Can naming this experience begin to dispel shame and encourage acceptance, honour the love that endures, and help the members involved connect with reality and to each other?
