According to the Pay Equity Commission in Ontario, the most recent Statistics Canada data shows that the gender wage gap is 26% for full-time, full-year workers. Which means that for every 1.00$ earned by a male worker, a female worker earns 74 cents.*

With this in mind, Lido Pimienta, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist, musician, curator and mother of one, will share with womyn in the art community, the tools and experiences gathered as an independent artist and boss over the last 10 years when she decided to no longer work for anybody else but herself – and how she has succeeded in doing so.

From how to be assertive when negotiating payment with a client, objectively deal with music bookers and venues, to the importance of always having and even drafting our own contracts, and much more.
