LGBTQ is often synonymous with gay-white-able-bodied-male; Blindspots puts the focus on those who exist under the queer umbrella, but don’t fit under this category. Blindspots is an exhibition composed of the work of five queer-diasporic artists, aiming to bring to light the often hidden facets of the queer experience.
In order to accent the discussion generated by the Blindspots exhibition, six films have been selected for this screening. Each of these films are created by queer diasporic artists, or explore the LGBTQ experience through a diasporic lens.
Featuring: Piotr Bockowski & Cristine Brache, Qila Gill, Sarah Hill, Benjamin Hunter, Kristin Li, Maximilian Suillerot and TeeJay Hayche
The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with Fan Wu, curator Dainesha Nugent-Palache and some of the artists in attendance.
