In 1st Place Michelle Homonylo performs the role of a professional Olympic swimmer. Staged in a domestic environment the performance is juxtaposed with real Olympic found footage. Conveying feelings of nostalgia and humour the work reflects on the relationship between the professional athlete and the domestic home viewer. Objects as well as actions represent associations with competitive swimming as well as explore the relationship between their dual realities and how they are interpreted within a domestic space.
