nostalgia for postmodernists (after modernism) inserts contemporary language and materials into reflections on modernism as it might have been. Featuring works by Aryen Hoekstra, Tobias Williams, and Julian Higuerey Núñez, the exhibition presents nostalgia as a desire for what never-actually-was. Hoekstra uses old-school slide projectors to create animated gifs of Duchampian drawings, Williams subtly inserts internet memes into William Morris wallpaper designs wheat-pasted onto the walls of the gallery, and Núñez explores the tension between a desire for and failure of progress by attempting to build floor-to-ceiling columns out of popsicle sticks in his series monuments.
