Melissa Fisher’s practice lies within the realm of sculpture and site-specific installation. She re-uses found objects, leftover / scavenged materials and digital photographs in the production of her work. She received her BFA from OCAD University in 2008 and completed a residency at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts in 2012 where she now has a long-term studio space. Her site-specific installations have been featured in window galleries throughout Toronto, and also done in conjunction with music related events. Aside from Toronto, Melissa has exhibited at Sur la Montagne in Berlin, Germany and Souvenir Gallery in Victoria, BC. Her current project is a feature film co-created with filmmaker Chris Boni which is being shot in Prossedi (Italy), Skagaströnd (Iceland), and Toronto (Canada) the spring/summer of 2013.
