Xpace Cultural Centre is looking for submissions of new or existing works exploring the politics of design for an upcoming exhibition June/July 2015. Everyday design can affect the social climate that we live in, and we are looking for submissions that use design to communicate political ideas, to change the way that people use objects and/or move through space, and that demonstrate the potential for protest and resistance.

* Accessible design
* Political Posters
* Critical Advertising
* Subverting Marketing
* Interventions
* Sustainable Design
* Guerilla Activism (gardening, advertising, etc)
Open to works in any medium.
Xpace does not accept submissions over email. Please make sure to include hardcopies of all written material and a clearly labeled disk with support images.
Proposals must include
1. Description of the proposed work including how it relates to the theme (Maximum 300 words).
2. A statement situating your overall practice and how the proposed work reflects that practice (Maximum 300 words).
3. 5-10 images with an image support list. Images must be consistently labeled (01_JohnDoe). Do not put images in a pdf or use powerpoint. Image support list should provide date, title, and medium where appropriate. Where necessary a one-sentence descriptor of the work in the image can also be included.
4. Curriculum Vitae (Max 3 pages): Your CV should include education and exhibition history, as well as any relevant experience, reviews, etc. Xpace only shows the work of student and emerging artists/curators/designers – Please make sure that you fall within our mandate before submitting.
