Katie Bethune-Leamen works in sculpture, video, and other mediums, referencing specific forms as entry points into engagement with abstraction, and toward propositions around being and making. Bethune-Leamen holds a MFA from the University of Guelph, and a BFA from Concordia University. Recent solo exhibitions include Shiny Object Person (AGO), Older, Sadder, And All In White This Time (Latcham Gallery, Stouffville), and Dazzle Shizzle (MKG127). Recent residencies include Samband Islenskra Myndlistarmanna (Reykjavik, IS), Fogo Island Arts (Fogo Island, NL), and The Banff Centre, with ones upcoming at Open Studio (Toronto), the Illulissat Art Museum (Ilulissat, GD), The American Museum of Natural History (NYC), and a return to the Fogo Island Arts Residency.
